SPEAKERS

Dr. Peter Petschauer  - "What if your father is not a hero?” : Tuesday, September 11, 2007 @ 7:00PM in the Carol Grotnes Library, Room 114. Dr. Petschauer will present on his most recent publication, The Father and the SS. Our Center invites you to join us for a reception honoring Dr. Petschauer before the presentation begins.  Reception begins at 6:15PM.

Vivian Jacobson - "Chagall and the Bible ": Tuesday, September 18, 2007 @ 7PM in room 114 of the Carol Grotnes Belk Library.  

Ralph Jacobson - "Remembering the Holocaust": Wednesday, September 19, 2007 @ 7:00PM in the Carol Grotnes Library, Room 114. Mr. Jacobson returns to ASU to retell his survival story as a refugee who fled with his mother from Nazi Germany.

Amy Hudnall, MA - "Voices from the Grave: Bosnia and Herzegovina Today"
Thursday, October 18th @ 7:00pm in room 114 of the Carol Grotnes Library. Amy Hudnall will give a presentation on the current state of affairs in Bosnia and Herzegovina as the Bosniaks, Croats, and Serbs attempt to rebuild, forgive, and find justice after the genocide in the 1990s.

Evelin Lindner - "Genocide, Humiliation, and Conflict" Tuesday, Nov. 13th @ 7:00pm in room 114 of the Carol Grotnes Library. In this lecture, Evelin Lindner, founder of the field of Humiliation Studies and the Network for Human Dignity and Humiliation Studies, will consider the role of humiliation in the genocides of Rwanda, Bosnia, and Cambodia, exploring how to avoid and resolve conflict through the dynamics of human dignity and humiliation. For more information about Evelin and her work please check out: www.humiliationstudies.org.

SYMPOSIUM

Martin and Doris Rosen Summer Symposium: The 2007 "Remembering the Holocaust" Symposium was a great success. Information for the 2008 Symposium will be posted as plans evolve.
